I've been around since 02/01 and I find that my "addiction" waxes and wanes a bit... Frankly, part of my obsession with checking and/or posting DU constantly in the past was my desperate need for signs that Amerikuns were waking up and that the Shrub was going to get his karmic reward.... (Ok, ok, I know I shouldn't wish for such, but I'm human, right?)

Now, I still come by each day, but mainly to pick up the main news stories that I wouldn't hear from MSM propagandists and to just generally "check in"... :shrug:

...but I really need to put more time into digitizing my photos and video (which will hopefully lead to a new job), so I often force myself to spend less time here. It's tough though.

Unfortunately, I've been working alot, I just took another position with another company and I've been working like a crazy woman...last week I worked literally 87 hours...

I have taken over a new store and it's been keeping me really busy...today was the first day that I only worked 11 hours...

But I hope to keep reading and checking in on what's going on here...this is one of my resources for current news, besides C-Span...which I haven't seen in two weeks or my Sunday morning PBS shows...

I am not posting as often as I was when I first got here. I am grateful to read what everyone here has to say because I am learning so much. I just found this place about a month before the elections, so I am still ecstatic to find so many smart, articulate and passionate progressives in one place!!

I found DU about 2 weeks before the election & became instantly addicted.

Before the election, I needed to take several breaks because I got depressed and lost hope. Now, I can see some sort of light at the end of the tunnel.
