Some RW schmuck on Scarborough Country last night said Jon Stewart's |
|
show isn't "fair and balanced"....
Do you think this chucklenut realizes it's a comedy show, not a "news" program per se?
I can't remember his name and the transcripts on MSNBC aren't up yet.
Maybe he doesn't realize the republicans have been supplying him with endless material to work with.....but I doubt it.
He was trying to say that FOX News is much more "fair and balanced"...
I was gagging at that point...

Here's the definitive quote:
"I don't think The Daily Show has been fair and balanced. If they're going to maintain their credibility as a reliable source of comedy, they better be fair and balanced."
A "reliable source of comedy", Gracie?

it was a show whose sole purpose was to redeem that toad chris wallace or what ever his name is.
wallace like every other tapeworm on fox carries republick party water -- and that's all they do.

I don't recall The Daily Show promoting itself as "fair & balanced" so the comment that they are not is immaterial and irrelevant.
AND it's a comedy show, stupid!

WTF?
I'm sorry, Bob Hope was a 'reliable' source of comedy. HAted Dems esp. Roosevelt.

6. Fair and Balanced Comedy? |
|
A hungry homeless guy kicking a rich fatcat who's bending over to pick up a nickel square in his pampered ass is funny. A rich guy kicking a homeless guy fishing in a trash can for a half eaten Big Mac is mean.
Hard to be funny making fun of the less fortunate and hard to make fun of Democrats instead of Republicans.
That is, unless the Democrats start selling out, and breaking their promises, and then just watch and see how hard Stewart starts smacking Pelosi and crew.

8. They would angle it like this |
|
A "common NASCAR watching johnny sixpack all 'Murkan" guy kicking an "elitist sushi eating wine sipping hippy intellectual liberal" in the shins. Silly as it sounds, that's how they would angle it IMHO.
Not unlike a grow up equivalent of the high school jock that gets away with murder beating up the smart kid who dares be outspoken. Immature idiots would love it.

14. No. Everytime * tries to tell a joke, Kerry must be allowed airtime so he can mangle one too. |
|
That is fair and balanced comedy.

12. I love it how these guys were against the Fairness Doctrine when... |
|
...it came to balancing serious political speech on the airwaves, but now they are all atwitter about presenting "balanced" comedic viewpoints.
It is totally insane.

16. I sent Joey the Scar a LONG email about that |
|
The clown's name was Kohn, I think, and he has some book ragging on the NY Times. When Joey the Scar pulled out a bunch of stuff from Fox showing pro-Repuke bias, he could only come back with Jon Stewart. And Joe let him skate. Comparing 2 hours of comedy per week to 24/7/365 disinformation is just pathetic.
The wingnut did make one point, though. Chris Wallace is probably the worst guy on Fox to blame. He may be slightly biased, but he gives everybody a hard time. Compared to Hume, O'Really and that Hannity clown, though, he's Mr. Down the Middle.

All you need to ask: IS IT FUNNY? If it is, more often than not, then it's a reliable source of comedy!
