Report: Bush Twins Asked to Leave after Naked Hotel Romp
Report: Bush Twins Asked to Leave after Naked Hotel Romp

Jenna and Barbara Bush, the twin daughters of President Bush have ignored a 'strong suggestion' from the United States embassy in Argentina to leave early due to security issues and concerns the two could upstage the new US Ambassador, Anthony Wayne.

The pair have been constantly in the headlines. An Argentinean tabloid claims the two girls have been seen running nude in the hotel they are staying in. Earlier one of them had her purse and phone stolen while being protected by the secret service.

More security concerns were raised when an producer from the ABC News network was able to walk unimpeded into the hotel where the twins are staying and converse with Barbara as she checked her emails while Jenna sat nearby.

5. Likewise
I also find the "running naked" story suspect. I mean, Daddy's girls aren't as serious-minded as some First Daughters we've had in the past, but there's no reason to believe that they'd be that dumb.

Moreover, I'm inclined to lay off Barb the younger and Jenna for another reason. After listening to the right's trashing of Chelsea Clinton, I'm inclined to leave the daughters alone. Not that the creatures of the right are likely to follow our good example (They won't), but I'd feel better for not emulating them.

17. Running naked through halls is probably the least they've done. If the
tabloids are making this up it says there must be so much "real dirt" on those twins that they feel they can get away with "naked romp," and no one "in the know" will bat an eye.

35. Why don't you believe it?
Years ago we lived in a complex and there was a young lady who was rescued by our caretaker (with a blanket) regularly on Friday nights after she had a few drinks. She was not some dumb clusterfugg like these Bush girls either. She was a PhD candidate who had won some of the best scholarships from high school days.

She just couldn't handle two drinks and would run up and down the stairs stark naked. We laughed it off as a free spirited youngster, but the poor religious caretaker kept the blanket on stand-by.

9. How Many Of Us Could Romp Around The Pampas At 25?
I was working, engaged to be married and trying to figure out how to pay rent. Most other people in the real world are trying to prove themselves, establish a career, families and contribute to the welfare of society and the country. And what are these silver-spooned brats doing?

In the past, I felt picking on the Anheiser Bush twins was a little petty here, but not when they appear to be flaunting their wealth, power and connections to live the good life while the majority of us suffer from the greed and ignorance of the sperm donor who pretends to be their father and preznit.

This speaks so loudly of how disfunctional the booosh cabal is. All of 'em. Spoiled and lacking any sense or responsibility for their own stupidity and actions. I thought these "girls" had finished school and were going to lead "normal lives". Wasn't one supposed to work in an inner city school in New York? Guess that didn't pan out.

The more I see these spoiled brats the more I'm impressed with Chelsea Clinton, the Carter children, John & Caroline Kennedy...even Patti Davis and Ron Reagan.

18. And We Wonder Where The Term "Ugly American" Comes From
Welcome to DU!! :toast:

As a kid I was fortunate to travel the world and it taught me at a young age there was a very large world outside the U.S...and how myopic the view of foreign lands and cultures are in this country. There's an "Americo-centric" view that if you were a U.S. citizen somehow you were superior to any other country in the world. WWII enhanced that as Americans felt "we saved" Europe and the ugly American image grew in the reconstruction and re-alignment of the Cold War. This "tude" has become more xenophobic over the years and created a disconnect between this country and most of the world and is getting worse. The boooosh regime has thumbed its noses at our allies and demonized any and all critics.

Every issue, news story or piece of history is viewed through an American filter that is primarily a cartoon view of the world...with an us vs. them, good vs. evil, black and white view. It's easier to clump Bin Laden with Saddam Hussein cause they're both A-rabs and then attempting to roll the Iranians into that same "domino theory". Unfortunately this is going to get worse...a lot worse.

I can now travel and hope to be able to visit the many cultures I've read about and met through immigrants here. I dread the damage this regime has brought upon our image in the world as this Iraq fiasco has completely exposed the selfish and aggressive nature that was the main image of the "ugly American".

Cheers...

21. Thanks for the welcome!
I spent some time in Great Britain in the 80's and met a lot of people even then who were incredibly hostile toward America. Apparently the rest of the world didn't consider Reagan some kind of deity. Go figure.

I've decided that if I end up going overseas any time in the near future I'm going to tell people I'm Canadian. It'll be tricky with my Long Island accent, but I'm working on it. Or "aboot" it.

63. Money Was Not A Problem...Mud Was
I just posted above...I was in NYC that weekend and wanted to go...but when we found out the traffic was backed up over 50 miles, we thought otherwise. IRC the admission price was $10 and that was suspended after the first day. Just being alive in those days and being tuned into the music and Progressive spirit of the times is my lasting memory. Last night I was scanning old Smothers Brothers videos on youtube...it brought back all those feelings of the time...and what is so lacking today.

Cheers...

That week in August '69, I had just returned from Israel and was staying with cousins in Flushing Meadows. He heard all about the big goings on in Woodstock and I convinced them that it might be worth checking out...that was until we turned on the radio and heard the traffic was backed up over 50 miles. But of course, I my "urban legend" says that I was there. :eyes:

Fishkill, NY...going to visit friends and we didn't know what the hell was going on with Woodstock...until the news told us what it was. We were tied up on the Hudson River Parkway for hours going back into Manhattan!

Amazing all these years and I see a post from someone who missed the big event who was stuck in traffic like me...not knowing it would have Historical Implications!

:hi: for those days... God...it's been a long time...and, I'm still just a kid!

On Edit: I later heard all about the event from my friend Ricky who lived in the East Village and who left when the "Mud" took over. I was kinda glad I missed it, frankly. But, it lives in History.

88. One Doesn't Get Older...Just More Experienced...
Even though Woodstock was a big deal, I don't think at the time most of us thought it was going to be the historical event it has now become. There was always something new and different and bigger and more extravagant to come along...Woodstock was just another one of those things. I'm glad to have lived in those times and had appreciated the importance of what it was at the time.

Good chance had either of us made it to Yagur's farm, we would have been miles from the stage...but then the image of those cute young ladies in the tie-dyed tank tops still play in my head. LOL.

Last April, I got to Manhattan for the first time in 35 years and paid homeage with my 21 year old daughter at Strawberry Fields and the Dakota...then in August I ran around Golden Gate Park and Haigh-Ashbury. Better late than never. I never grew up...just forward...like a Progressive should. I still don't trust anyone over 30...which means I haven't trusted myself for 20 years now.

:hi: Cheers to you and thanks for the fun thoughts and memories.

P.S....If anyone asks...We BOTH were there.

Edited on Tue Nov-28-06 09:36 AM by Jennicut
Five years ago at age 25 I was living in a one bedroom apartment with my fiance (now husband) and I working second shift as it was the only job I could get in my field. Makes you wish the Gore daughters were the first daughters. Two of them, Karenna and Kristin have written books. And the third daughter, Sarah, is attending medical school. Or the Kerry daughters, Alex and Vanessa. They all had class and sophistication and were trying to do something worthwhile with their lives. I feel its fine to criticize these young women as they are adults and are spreading their spoiled and over indulged Bushness around the rest of the world, giving America a bad name in the process. I cannot wait until they leave!

36. Shouldn't they be in Iraq?
Shouldn't two young able bodied individuals be fighting for such a noble cause as spreading democracy across the middle east?

:sarcasm:

37. The title of this thread is misleading...
First off, an Argentinian "tabloid" claimed they were running naked through a hotel. Repeat, CLAIMED. Not proven. No witnesses. No pictures. CLAIMED.

Second off, they werent asked to leave because of that. They were asked to leave over concerns involved their Secret Service detail not the girls themselves.

You know, its just a couple girls trying to have some fun when they're still young. I was always disgusted when the right went after Chelsea Clinton so I don't see why its ok to go after Bush's daughters.

I consider the twins fair game given their total lack of decorum. Just like their dolt of a father you reap what you sow.

39. They don't have to provide their own security

They are free human beings, the secret service protects them at the request of the close family member who is a protected person. They can refuse the protection at any time they want, they can also request the secret service back off or scale down to whatever level they want. The US government can not make you leave a country because they feel you do not have enough security with you.

40. This happened on my sister's college campus.
Her first roommate switched to another room after meeting my sister during their summer orientation before their Freshman year. She decided to change rooms about two weeks before school was supposed to start. My mom said it was because my sister was wearing a short skirt and her roommate and her parents appeared to be Pentecostal fundies, you know, can't wear pants and can't cut your hair if you're a woman. I think it was a combination of that as well as the fact that my sister is Black and this is a small, predominantly White state college in NE Tennessee. No doubt her roommates family thought my sister would not be an "appropriate" influence on their daughter. Anyway, the girl's new roommate got caught TWICE running the dorm hallway drunk and naked, while jumping in and out of the beds of the male co-eds. It was only after the second time the girl was caught that she was kicked out of school.

I just love the irony of the whole situation.

47. And what they would have done to Chelsea...
if even an infinitesimal amount of ANY of it is true....

I remember the press calling Amy Carter 'ugly' and saying pretty much the same about Chelsea. In fact, I seem to recall the press calling Chelsea a 'dog'. If ANY of the twins antics are true, there would be specials on MSM all about it, what a disgrace, an embarrassment, why doesn't he DO something...

ugh.

77. A bible thumper without a bible ...
That's what you sound like.
Sitting all smug in righteousness.

At 25, I was bouncing in and out of college, holding down 2 and three part-time jobs, and spending way to much time at bars and acting like an idiot.
I had no career. My education was stop and go. My cares mostly shallow. My most serious concerns were paying the rent and trying to keep my car running while still having enough money to party on weekends.

Maybe you went from high school, to college and then right into your job.

Congrats.

But don't sit in judgment of those who follow another track.

61. There is NOTHING that would beat Daddy losing 2 wars.
They could do twin porn with Saddam Hussein and history would shrug it off as an attempt at distracting the press from daddy's disaster. Bush's every pronouncment brings him more shame.

These girls should go to the Hedonism resort in Jamaica. The secret service would have no problem keeping guys with guns away from them. Also their behavior would not attract notice in that context.

74. I TOTALLY believe it happened.
Those girls are out of control, spoiled, clueless princesses! They are TWENTY FIVE years old for crying out loud! And they graduated what 2 or was it 3 years ago? And they are still running around like it's a sorority party or something! Why aren't they working? Oh yeah, daddy's footing the bill so they don't have to! :puke:

When I was 25, I was working TWO jobs to pay for a studio apartment, a car payment AND for school!

78. So was I
I never thought I'd get through school with all the hours I had to work to pay the bills

But just because I had it tough doesn't mean I'm going to whine about others having it easy.

What's the point.

Attack the people who are putting policies in place that make it so damn tough.
Not their daughters.
When their daughters take an active role in putting those policies in place (and not just smiling for the cameras), then attacking them is justified.

But I just don't see why people get so bent out of shape about these two.

Instead of shipping them off to die or be maimed in Iraq.
Not to mention psychologically damaged for life.

Ah, to be one of the global elites, eh?
