Yes, the Sunnis and Shiites are in full-fledged combat in some sections of the country.

I don't know. It's too difficult to tell exactly what's happening in Iraq.

NBC's news department has made an editorial decision to call the situation in Iraq a "civil war." Do you agree with this decision?

Yes, the Sunnis and Shiites are in full-fledged combat in some sections of the country.

10. Tom Friedman said Iraq's status is "worse than civil war" (Today Show)
He went on to describe the fragmentation and said the only way to install order would be a huge scale occupation (he was NOT advocating this), otherwise there was no solution to stop the ongoing violence and escalation of violence.
