Dear MoveOn member,

Larry Kissell's incredible grassroots campaign for Congress is just 329 votes away from an upset victory over incumbent Republican Robin Hayes. Larry is an economic populist who wants to end the occupation of Iraq, and he needs volunteers to observe the hand recount of votes tomorrow (Wednesday) or Thursday.

You don't need any special training. You'll watch the process, take notes, and alert the campaign as to the results and anything fishy in the process or the ballots.

Hayes declared victory on Election Night, before all the votes were counted. But Larry insisted on waiting patiently for every absentee and provisional ballot to be counted, gaining on Hayes by 150 votes. He asked for a machine recount, which added even more. Now he's asked for a sample of ballots to be counted by hand—if the discrepancy with the machine recount is big enough to change the outcome, there will be a hand recount of every vote.

Larry's campaign has been full of surprises. Now he's in the final fight to win.
