Giuliani, Obama, McCain... likeability? ... give me a break ! |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-28-06 06:03 PM by NewYorkerfromMass
This is the kind of poll completely divorced from reality. None of these top 3 guys has ever been in a national campaign where their names will be dragged through the mud and every evil insinuation thrown at them. Guiliani number one? Umm no. Wait until they see Rudy in a dress. Kerry last? Well yeah, he "said" our troops were stupid, and the media made sure everyone thought that. Here's the whole, complete ridiculous list of what the media wants you to think: (the 2nd number is all time high ranking)
1) Rudolph Giuliani - 64.2. (9) 2) Sen. Barack Obama 58.8 (41) 3) Sen. John McCain 57.7 (12) 4) Condoleezza Rice - 56.1 (7) 5) Bill Clinton - 55.8 (1) 6) Sen. Joseph Lieberman - 52.7 (16) 7) Michael Bloomberg - 51.1 (44) 8) John Edwards - 49.9 (20) 9) Sen. Hillary Clinton- 49 (1) 10 Bill Richardson - 47.7 (65) 11 Sen. Joseph Biden 47 (52) 12 Nancy Pelosi 46.9 (34) 13 Gov. Mitt Romney - 45.9 (64) 14 Former VP Al Gore - 44.9 (3) 15 George W. Bush - 43.8 (1) 16 Sen. Evan Bayh - 43.3 (75) 17 Newt Gingrich - 42 (15) 18 Sen. Bill Frist - 41.5 (53) 19 Sen. Harry Reid - 41.2 (61) 20 Sen. John Kerry - 39.6 (5) (never above 46.3)

1. Rudy has had nothing but a slobbering press since 9/11 |
|
and McCain is also the press's (in Nixon's words) "Poster boy", but during a campaign reality will seep in.

3. Latest media effort to tear Kerry down before he oversees net neutrality issue in January. |
|
The trick is to make Kerry radioactive in his own party and scare spineless Dems from supporting his voice on net neutrality and FCC dealings.

4. Well if you ask republicans |
|
You never get anything but a republican answer. And they admitted that some of the people they asked didn't even know the people they were asking about. So rudi with his name recognization would come out on top. the people I know think he sucks...big time.

6. Likeability is a good starting point |
|
Let's face it, McCain is likeable. Wrong, but likeable. And it matters. Who wants to vote for a jerk, even one you agree with?

7. Is that a poll done by the corporate media whores? |
|
I wouldn't be surprised because they are for SURE going to try and dictate who runs. Just like they did with Dean and Kerry. Dean was out, Kerry was in. Well Screw them! :puke:
Gore 2008!!! :bounce:

9. This list actually makes sense |
|
McCain, Giuliani, and Obama all receive positive press coverage. The media still says "McCain is a moderate" and people buy the BS. Giuliani was the only one who appeared to do anything on 9/11. Clinton reminds people of better times and is charismatic as hell.
Kerry receives bad coverage (unfairly of course) over a joke. Al Gore barely receives any coverage. The rest are hardly known.

11. One thing I wonder, did the people voting know who every single person was? |
|
Or did they just grab people from the street, Jay Leno style? Because that would explain the weirdness of the outcome. I can admit when someone from the other side is likeable, but these numbers are not intuitive at all.
