State Which Fought Release of Diebold Data Showing 200+ Percent Turnout in 2004 is Again Fighting Against Transparency

The state of Alaska which, as avid BRAD BLOG readers will recall, had been fighting tooth and nail to keep from releasing their database of how voters voted back in 2004, is at it again. VoterUnite.org's 'Daily Voting News' For November 28, 2006

A recount has been requested by a candidate for Senate in Indiana. / Riverside Co. California has announced an intent to form a panel to investigate their voting problems. / Ron Rivest visited Georgia on Nov. 7 and has recently reported on what he saw as he visited with the head of the state's elections and some polls in different counties. He was told by Kathy Rogers, the state elections boss, that the state did illegally use uncertified software in 2002. Rivest also found that the state seems to have decided it's OK to violate federal law as they turn voters with questionable registrations away from the polls without offering them a provisional ballot….

8. I should...

I've got at least three of them I'm *dying* to write! And an agent who wants me to. Thanks for noticing/asking.

Only question is, if I stop what I'm doing now for a few months to write one of 'em, whose gonna keep up making sure this shit gets out there?!

(Seeking volunteers! :-)

9. Dude, we ALL need to hear this over & over & over again until the Dem congress
Edited on Wed Nov-29-06 01:21 AM by GreenTea
fucking does something about the republican owned electronic voting machines. Can't go into 2008 elections without meaningful change, and I don't hear any Democrats in Congress even addressing this incredible and real problem...without our vote ALL else is lost.

Once and for all we need to get rid of these easily hackable machines, that we with our taxes dollars paid for but we do NOT own and toss them ALL in a big hole in Crawford Texas and move forward.....back to counting paper ballots by hand - until there's real account ability with machines certainly not republican corps like Diebold and ES&S...read this DU link...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x2820040

We need to make noise and loudly about this past 2006 election and never let up about what's going on in Alaska which is becoming another 2002 Georgia and in FL, AR...

People just don't seem to care or are unaware (because the corporate media will NEVER expose it but will actively ignore the obvious) mostly because the Dem's won back the House this past election people really believe there wasn't any voting fraud, manipulation and vote stealing, to the contrary, there was as much or more fraud in this past election.

We need new legislation now and to get rid of the bullshit republican written "Help America Vote Act" (HAVA) of 2002...And we just ignore what's going on in the states you mentioned in your thread.

We need to be reminded of this every day, it's NEVER too often, until we get congress to do something about it....

10. I am just amazed how criminal acts
committed by so-called 'public officials' continue to be condoned - shameless.

Yes, we have to be louder and persistent - until everyone is informed.

14. Goddammit, this bullshit is frickin' BULLSHIT, GODDAMMIT!!!!!!!!
Two elections in a row, the "winners" refuse to
release the data that supports their claims of "winning".:wtf:

This time, they are UNDER COURT ORDER to release the files,
and they say "NO"?

The only POSSIBLE explanation for this is: They STOLE it.
They stole it BIG, they stole it WIDE, they stole it CLEAR.
And they know that even a CURSORY glance at the figures
would show that they stole it.

Why would a "winner" break the law to hide the data that proves they won?
ONLY because those "results" are evidence of a larger crime, that's why.
No other theories need apply.

That's what I thought. Otherwise what's the point in having court orders?
