As Iraq Deteriorates, Iraqis Get More Blame

U.S. Officials, Lawmakers Change Tone

From troops on the ground to members of Congress, Americans increasingly blame the continuing violence and destruction in Iraq on the people most affected by it: the Iraqis.

Even Democrats who have criticized the Bush administration's conduct of the occupation say the people and government of Iraq are not doing enough to rebuild their society. The White House is putting pressure on the government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, and members of the bipartisan Iraq Study Group have debated how much to blame Iraqis for not performing civic duties.

This marks a shift in tone from earlier debate about the responsibility of the United States to restore order after the 2003 invasion, and it seemed to gain currency in October, when sectarian violence surged. Some see the talk of blame as the beginning of the end of U.S. involvement.

"It is the first manifestation of a 'Who lost Iraq?' argument that will likely rage for years to come," said Bruce Hoffman, a Georgetown University expert on terrorism who has worked as a U.S. government consultant in Iraq.

We share 100 percent of the blame. We invaded their nation without provocation in a massive war crime. Smashed it to smithereens. Deliberately dismantled their infrastructure and government services. Conducted a purge of competent administrators and installed a bunch of carpetbaggers. Then we allowed or arranged the decapitation of their indigeneous intellectual and technical elites in a campaign of terror. We then deliberately alienated the civilian population by crashing in front doors, using gunships and tanks to "find the insurgents."

But the greatest mistake of all was the ideological driven Bremer colonial edicts which dismantled their economic system for ideological reasons to establish a colony subject to anglo-american corporate domination. Then we wrote their constitution preserving the Bremer rape of the nation by the so called lovers of freedom and democracy. Now we expect quisling servants of this regime to be loyal defenders of the "democratic government freely chosen by the Iraqi people?"

Who believes this farcical propaganda? This is a story for imbeciles.

There are multiple aspects to the myth of US altruism in destroying nations to "spread democracy." The first is that of "creative destruction" a fundamentally nazi concept.

The second is that the myth's purpose is to conceal the ulterior motives of conquest, plunder, and consolidation of police power for a struggling American heriditary aristocracy of chauvinistic incompetent elites who fear their own Constitution and people and their decline on the world stage.

Finally, the black ops people (a favorite bush constituency) have been using al CIAda to provoke divide and conquer "sectarian violence" throughout Asia in a cynical strategy that we successfully replicated in Iraq when it became clear that we couldn't project enough power to defeat the natural resistance of a proud culture to an invasion and oppression by aliens.

Now the neocons try to divorce themselves from the diastrous consequences of their grandiose plans.

Maliki is a US stooge. Meeting with * is about the stupidist and most destructive thing he could do. It's an acknowledgement of fealty. It's a confirmation of lack of legitimacy.

The current "change of course" is the continuing defense contractor boondoogle. The game is "empty the US treasury." If their plans for the destruction of the US Constitution fail, they'll end up running to South America like the Nazis.

The democratic majority should just start cutting off the money in january.
