OMG, have you seen the Stewart on O'Reilly show clip lately? |
|
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFmVobiv8BU&mode=related&search=Haven't watched this for some time...the whole thing. I thought Colbert was a tad over the top. But, no. colbert doesn't come close to being the ego Bill is. (Help me, I'm stuck on youtube and I can't get off!)

1. If Mark Twain were a Jewish New Yorker |

He would be Jon Stewart (that was a compliment, by the way). He is so damned SHARP. The confluence of intelligence, wit, and humor in this man is amazing, and so totally "American."

7. This Canadian agrees ... |

Both those gentlemen could/can do "folksy" very well (far better than Bush can, since there's genuine decency in them). Operating a riverboat on the Mississippi or tending bar in New Jersey, there is something timelessly American in their ability to cut right to the heart of a problem. I'm not ashamed to say that if I found myself in a fix, I would sooner turn to one of them than to some of my fellow Canadians (okay, maybe I'd ask Tommy Douglas and Stephen Leacock, though the latter would probably end up making some enormous joke out of the whole thing). And instead of glibly ordering me to do something which would rearrange my entire life to suit themselves, they would modestly start off with "of course I don't know much about this", and proceed to come out with some amazingly astute observation -- and follow it up with a suggestion which might not be easy, and could even be painful, but which would make things a damned sight better than they are now.

She'll be 83 in February. She's been a fan for at least 2 years.

"the three most important men in America after the president" (Mccain, oreilly and some other schmuck) No. I'd say that's pretty close to the truth.
