I know a guy who was hired and then fired after his employer ran a private background check. It turns out that his ex had accused him of a number of crimes for which he was arrested and charged but not convicted. Charges were dropped.
This guy was fired for being accused of crimes. The DA gets to charge you with whatever they feel like and face no penalty for levying charges and then dropping them. Your life is still ruined.

I seem to be blacklisted from every job in this area in my skill set. I applied for a radio production/sales job a couple weeks ago and despite the fact that I'm pretty much the most qualified person in the area for the job I didn't even get a call for an interview. Fuck em. Rather be poor and have my integrity. Good food and being able to pay our utilities would be nice though.
