Bush's economic "brain trust" backs Mittens...
Oh goody. Can you think of any more of an oxymoron to describe these people?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/28/AR2006112801364.html

He hasn't even formed his presidential exploratory committee, but Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) has already signed up an economic brain trust to advise him, led by two former chairmen of President Bush's Council of Economic Advisers.

R. Glenn Hubbard, dean of the Columbia University Graduate School of Business, and N. Gregory Mankiw, a scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, have agreed to join Romney's political action committee, committee spokesman Jared Young said yesterday. Hubbard and Mankiw will play key roles in the governor's presidential campaign if he decides to run -- a decision that is widely presumed.

1. Let's Hope They Know As Much About Politics As They Do Economics
Hubbard & Mankiw have no serious credentials in economics. Yeah, they took the classes, but look into their published work. Virtually non-existent. So, they were just crony appointments to positions for which they were unqualified. Hopefully, Mit is making the same mistake and they'll screw up his campaign the way they screwed up the economy.

2. Mankiw strikes me as a complete egghead...
he knows the theories inside and out, but theories cannot always be put to practical use. He was one of those people that told the Bush Administration what they wanted to hear, and he's also very close to the corporate overlords.

3. This should tell you most of what you need to know about Mittens
The rest of the story is that everything he does and says is all for the benefit of Mittens. His attitude is 'Fuck the voters and the constituents, it's all about Mittens.'

I speak as a survivor of 4 years under the Mittens regime. He MUST NOT be allowed to gain any sort of nationwide power or influence.

4. I resent himusing hisgovernorship just as a resume-builder
Everything else about him aside, It was obvious from the day he took office that Mitt could care less about Massachusetts.

To him, being governor was just a way to boost himself politically. Gives new meaning to the word carpetbagger.
