Sen. Elizabeth Dole: 'Help Us Retire Our Debt'
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

The Republicans' senatorial campaign arm, which lagged behind other national party committees in fundraising the past two years, emerged from the Nov. 7 election in debt and is soliciting donations to get out of the red.

In an urgent appeal to donors this week, Sen. Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina, the chairwoman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, beseeched contributors to "help us retire our debt."

"If we let this debt linger, it will cripple our efforts to recruit great candidates for the next election and begin our drive to win the one additional seat we need to regain the Senate majority," Dole wrote.

The Associated Press obtained a copy of the letter, which was confirmed by NRSC spokesman Dan Ronayne. "We do have a debt, as Senator Dole noted," Ronayne said.

Their own (offshore?) accounts just swell up like a gangrenous ... foot.

Why don't they pass the hat and rake off some of the foam from their own campaign funds? Between those and their bleedership PACs, they might cough up some scratch.

4. Perhaps if they tried to recruit great candidates for this race....
...they wouldn't be in such a financial muck!! Perhaps if their candidates were more like Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins, moderate in their ideologies (I'd say Lincoln Chafee but he went down in flames) they would have people who would be willing to vote for their candidates instead of leaving the party in droves

Here's my donation - I expect some change!

5. Man, you gotta think that GOP donors are not in th mood to pay
for such failure. These asshats lost the Senate with a five-seat majority. It's ridiculous.

Maybe they would still be in office

"If we let this debt linger, it will cripple our efforts".

by shining a light on 'em.

10. I'm Used To Seeing DNC Letters Like This...
Memories of McAuliffe...:puke:

The Viagra Test track was a total bust-out (no pun intended...ok, maybe a little one) in fundraising and recruting candidates. Mehlmann had to step in at the end and couldn't pull out enough dirty tricks to save losing the Senate as well as the House. They poured hundreds of millions of dollars in TV ads, Rovo-Calls and endless mailers with nothing to show for it. To those still pissed at Emmanuel's "throwing money away", Liddy and Reynolds were throwing around 10 times as much cash.

I'm surprised she hasn't been sacked yet...but I suspect that happens soon. Hell, she was a good "fundraiser" for the American Red Cross and maybe it required her corrupt and inept party to start going on life support for her to be effective.

Here's a great example of how the 50-state approach caught the RNC and RSCC blindsided. They didn't expect to spend big bucks in Montana or Virginia or for Joementum. In '08, they have to protect more seats than Democrats do and in primarily Blue and "Purple" states.

These slimeballs will find ways to fill up the coffers...just watch the GOOP candidates scramble for the cash. In '99, boooosh amassed a huge war chest to bypass a lot of campaign finance laws in '00 and freeze out the others. I suspect McCain is trying to manuever for that position this year.

16. LOL - Viagra Test Track
I had to read your first line 3 or 4 times before it sank in. I know, but I'm a little slow today.

I think I'm going to start using that as liddys nick name around the house if you don't mind?
