Freakers Freakin': Repukes lose Bible Study Room in Congress
Edited on Wed Nov-29-06 02:29 PM by maxrandb
Seems that they will have to find a different place to hold Bible Study.

I know, and you know, that what happened is that a room that they used to use to hold Bible Study now belongs to the majority party and they will have to find a different place to meet.

You know, and I know that the Dems didn't ban Bible Study, but as is typical of the Limbaugh mentality, the Freakers see this as a sign that the "godless, heathenist, satanic Dems" are going to fill it with tributes to their pagan god.

Let me guess--they will decorate with pagan symbols.

Hey! Is the freaker known as "Unmarked Package" the "white powder terrorist"?. I'm also concerned about the mental health of the Freaker going by the name "SolidWood". When did they begin naming themselves after the content of their skulls?

11. Now now, don't enrage them with reality...
And why can't I be a Democrat AND a believer in God, and still not want to force others to think as I do? And as said earlier, how hard will it be to find someplace else to study? Did anyone tell them that they CAN'T study the bible? And all of it's admitted contradictions amidst some amazing concepts and truths? That's what they should study, not how to take over the government.

6. Members of free republic would like for
republicans like mark foley to have a quiet place to take their pages and meditate quietly on their knees. A lot of fucking good a prayer room has done for our country with the republicans in charge. Congress does not need a prayer room, it needs a constitution room to contemplate the fate of the land of the free. We are not the land of focus on the family, albeit I think its fair to say that incest and the seeking of gay prostitutes and young boys are religious events in many "christian" "communities."

Something tells me that Jesus would appreciate that a lot more than a place where a bunch of hypocrites used to meet to figure out how to use the Bible to divide us.

Maybe when Tom Delay read the part about "rendering onto Caesar what is Caesar's", he really thought they were talking about him.

Is more than a bit ridiculous. If it happens to be where they meet to study bible and the room is used for something else the other 23 hours of the day, that's fine. But if the GOP only allowed it to be used for bible study, then there's something seriously wrong with that.

61. They shouldn't get a room set aside for that purpose alone
I work for the state and there was a group that used to have a Bible study during lunch hour once a week. They had to sign up to use the conference room like any other group, and were moved to a different room if there was a business need for that room at that time.

That's fair, because any other religious group is bound by the same rules and opportunities.

This really was a "do nothing" Congress. They moved so slow, that their Bible Study group never made it past the book of Leviticus.

Maybe by the year 2050 they'll make it to the New Testament.

I agree...the Bible Study Room was probably just a conference room that the Republicans had control over being the majority party. Now that the Dems are in control, it is their room to do with as they wish. It's not like they're banning the Bible Study group or anything.

63. Is that the meeting Hillary attends?
It was in a Time magazine article about her a couple of months ago. The one Time talked about is a Wednesday morning prayer group, so maybe it's different. The article was pointing out how Hillary has made in-roads with senate rethugs and this is one of the ways she has done it. Brownback actually apologized to her in one of the meetings for his hatred of her and his treatment of her in the past. I found this article from the Atlantic that talks about it, too:
