White House denies that Maliki snubbed Bush today
http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/news_theswamp/2006/11/whos_on_first_w.html

<snip>

Q I came in late. Where is Maliki?

MR. BARTLETT: I assume he's at his hotel -- he's having dinner with somebody else tonight.

Q Why didn't he come here?

MR. BARTLETT: I just said that he had a meeting -- he had a bilateral earlier today with the King; they had a very good conversation, and afterwards they felt, well, since we had good conversations, we addressed issues, there was not an agenda for the three for a trilateral that they felt was necessary.

Q But don't you risk sending a political message that the three were supposed to get together tonight and now they're not, after the memo by Hadley and all? This wasn't a snub, or anything like that.

MR. BARTLETT: Absolutely not. And I think that will be demonstrated tomorrow, as well as the fact that the King and the Prime Minister had a good meeting themselves, today. The King is being a gracious host, allowing for the two leaders to meet tomorrow morning. No one should read too much into this, except for the fact that they had a good meeting. This gives an opportunity for the King and the President to catch up on issues that are in the interests of Jordan and the United States, as well as the broader region. The issue -- a discussion specifically about Iraq will be had tomorrow by the two leaders, by themselves.

Q No connection to the memo, whatsoever?

MR. BARTLETT: No.

1. Iraq isn't in civil war. Saddam had WMD. They'll greet us with roses and candy.

3. first darth cheney gets taken to the SA woodshed, now bush is
snubbed because of an "accidental" release on purpose of a hadley memo. You know, if the WH had not leaked this to the NYT, and instead a Dem senator did, the media would be up in arms; the WH would be starting a criminal investigation and Rush, OReally and Insanity would be having a field day about the leak.
But when the WH leaks secret material, no one says boo.

When the US appointed leader of a failed nation himself snubs the shrub, things have to be bad.

6. White House denies sky is blue, White House denies there are 24 hours in a day!!!
Malaki gave the Monkey a massive FUCK YOU, and he did it because al-Sadr TOLD him to.

Of course, the bright spot for the Monkey is that if Malaki doesn't show him due deference, he can find a way to use that as an excuse to take his troops and go home.

Then you'll see Iran trying to gain influence in EyeRack, and next thing ya know, you'll see Arab states cooperating with, of all nations, ISRAEL, in order to counter the Iranian effort to expand their power base. We'll be shovelling money to them through the back door, and letting them take the hits instead of us.

It could get very interesting after we leave...we just gotta get going, and LEAVE.

8. Malaki - Dead Man Walking
This dude's played all ends against the middle and may pay the ultimate price. With Al Sadr withdrawing support, Malaki is a true puppet dangling on a string. While Sunnis and Shiites hate each other, both have a common hatred of boooosh and without a militia to support him Malaki is writing his own epitaph if he's shown on the pages of the Baghdad newspapers gladhanding with boooosh.

Booosh is playing for time...denying reality and Maliki may pay for it. It used to be the booosh regime could bully or buy off its critics or allies, now that game is over and the price will be high.

While many here envision a Vietnam type retreat...lately the visions of Mogadishu '93 play in my head...ya know, the "humanitarian" invasion poppy bush launched after he lost the election and stuck Clinton with. There we ended up playing whack a mole with Aidid...and it appears boooosh is about to make the same mistake by going after Al Sadr.

My bets are after Malaki kisses booosh's ring, he hops on a plane and heads into Crashcart's secret location or will return as the new Karzai of Iraq...the mayor of the Green Zone.
