Clintonites dreaming of a Hillary Clinton-Wes Clark ticket in '08? |
|
According to the current US News & World Report in it's Washington Whispers section this is the ticket Clintonites are dreaming of (due in part to Clark's Arkansas connections). How do you think such a ticket would do in the general election?

Hillary has been (and continues to be) a chickenhawk on the war. Pairing her up with a soldier will remind people of that.
Iraq has been a catastrophic fuck up by the Rethugs - but there will also be fallout on the Democrats.

2. Clark is a great attack dog. |
|
He could take on the MSM, leaving Hillary (or Gore, if we was at the top of the ticket) looking dignified and above the fray.

3. Odd - Clark and she have been on different paths the past 3 yrs. |
|
I am qute certain he is sincere about running himself, and not as a blocker for Hillary as some have assumed in the past.

10. I am certain of that too. |

He will run again I am sure, as his own man, not a sidekick for Hillary. :hi:

4. I don't think Clark wants to be the VP. |
|
It would be a waste of his talents.

6. She's too pro-war, and most of America no longer believes in the war |

Bush's stubborn refusal to change course helped him land at 31 percent approval.

The Democrats have a clear mandate from the American people to end this immoral war NOW. I don't honestly know Wes Clark's position on Iraq, but Clinton is clearly not in line with the public sentiment in respect to the debacle in Iraq. I think that ticket would be weak because of that.

I don't think anything could save a Hillary candidacy, and I think it would be an insult to Clark to be put in a position of having to try. I certainly hope he has the wisdom to stay out of that sort of arrangement.

The republicans and the media are all 'telling us' that it is going to be Hillary.
As I like her, I dont want her to be President
I want KERRY/CLARK 2008
That would be a landslide ticket

Sorry but if we're talking elect-ability and experience here then that should be the order.
