The male pill and the unspoken "pitch"
The male "pill" making such a splash is fundamentally different from any previously described male contraceptive.

I'm going to ask the moderators a little leeway here. Sex is not a kosher topic , but there are simply some physiological aspects to this new medication which are borderline topics for DU.

There are muscular and neurological components to what is normally associated with climax. The muscular components insure the propagation of the species, they lead to physiological responses which promote pregnancy. It's the neurological responses, however, which provide the experience of climax. The muscular and neurological responses can be separated, and several eastern traditions describe methods for doing do without medication of any kind. This new pill simply suppresses the muscular responses/contractions, preventing impregnation while still allowing the neurological experience to occur.

What's interesting about this, is that this regulation or suppression of the muscular response makes it possible, perhaps unavoidable, for men to experience multiple orgasms.

In that light, ladies, would you be more trusting of your men? And, men, might you be a bit more religious about taking your medication?

2. I think either you're fundmentally misunderstanding
the pill or I am. I was under the belief that the pill prevented sperm from entering the semen while allowing semen to be ejaculated.

3. That's a good question
and I'd be curious as to what the answer is.

4. They're being quiet about this, but I think I'm right
Here's an article: http://in.rediff.com/news/2006/nov/27pill.htm

From the article: "the new pill being researched by scientists at King's College, London, contains chemicals that prevent ejaculation and could be in tablet-form".

Ejaculation and orgasm are separate events, which simply overlap most of the time. If this medication comes out into the market place, I would be very curious to see what it does to male-female relations.
