11. And all you point out is the poor victims, their purse, their cell phone.. |
|
Nothing about them having been asked to leave the country, for instance.

12. Hardly think having a purse and phone stolen victimized them much |
|
And the ambassador being upset that someone has taken media time from him and wants them to leave is a reason for anything? Sounds like he's the one making an ass of himself. (or herself, I think I saw it was a man on TV but not certain)

The least the twins could do is be discrete, maybe volunteer at Walter Reed. Maybe say "Oh, we want to stay out of the politics of the war but we would like to provide some comfort and thank the injured soldiers"...but nooo. That would be too fucking dignified and responsible.

10. It's the Dems who actually SUPPORT the troops |
|
Republicans use them and smear them if they DARE run as Dems in politics. Or if they so much as speak truth to power.
The Bush girls should dance at the Al Franken USO tour this Christmas season.

13. Whether anyone likes it or not, they represent us in the view of many in the world. |

Just as all Americans get judged by the boorish behavior of some (the "Ugly Americans"), our nation's young people are judged by the behavior of the daughters of the President of the United States. Their actions are regarded as representative of the range of "best foot forward" behaviors. Is it fair? Well, what employee of a multinational firm wouldn't lose their job if they embarassed their company with a scandal? Other people are subject to far more punitive treatment than they. How many young adults with nothing even close to the wealth and privilege of those two conduct themselves far more responsibly? If, with far less reward and recognition, millions of other young adults adhere to far higher standards, then I'd say it's more than 'fair' to match the criticisms to the inequities in the sperm lottery. Millions would take the deal, criticism and all. I don't hear anyone asking them to "leap tall buildings in a single bound." I don't hear anyone voicing criticisms that far out of range from the kind they'd apply to young adults in their own family.
Do they really need anyone running to their defense? Nope. Cry me a river.
