Crazy idea re: Obama's Muslim heritage... |
|
...could it be spun as a positive for US credability internationally to have someone with Muslin heritage and name on the ticket? Could that be a selling point in some way, not just to the world, but to the 60% of this country who want us of Iraq and maybe finally realize that a holy war with a billion Muslims is not the way we want to go... I have my frustrations with Obama as many here and on dKos do, however, I also realize that he can't come across as too intense or 'unreasonable' or else, let's face it, the 'angry Black man' thing would scare off many white voters, and with his name and heritage, he would easily be smeared as too hot-headed to be trusted, so forth an so on...

and he appears to be very committed to his church (UCC), but the son and grandson of Muslims and Muslim brothers and sisters still living in a Muslim country...i don't know..of course, it would require a level of political sophistication in the thinking of 'THE AMERICAN PEOPLE' that I have NO reason to believe we are capable of, so, never mind...it was just a thought.

But whatever.
Too young, he is. Too inexperienced, he is. Too black, he is. I've long stopped trying to apply logic to it.

The world? Or the people of the United States who have been terrorized for years that the Muslims are out to kill our Christian/Jewish asses.
And, of course, nobody will confuse the name Obama with Osama.

9. Thank you for your concern. |

I think he's too green, too rockstar, too much ambition to too little proven solid experience for 2008. But I don't rule out anything after that.
