GOP announces elephant is dead
recognizing that 'the elephant never forgets' no longer matches the GOP philosophy, the GOP has announced that their new symbol will be an ostrich with its head buried in the dirt.

3. Funny, I always thought the GOP symbol was a condom (old joke)
Edited on Thu Nov-30-06 12:05 PM by DinahMoeHum
"The condom more clearly reflects the GOP's stance today,
A condom accepts inflation,
halts production,
destroys the next generation,
protects a bunch of pricks,
gives you a sense of security while you're actually getting screwed."

Wish I knew the original source - he/she's is right on target.

4. An elephant is high maintenance, costs a lot of money, and you can't
keep it in a lot of climates year round in the US ...

whereas a donkey is much easier to maintain, and is likely to be found in places that would never harbor an elephant ...
