Pa. philanthropist booked on gun charge

PHILADELPHIA --A convicted felon-turned-philanthropist who has offered reward money in several high-profile cases was arrested on a gun charge, authorities said Thursday.

Federal agents found a loaded handgun Wednesday in Joe Mammana's nightstand, according to an arrest warrant.

FBI and IRS agents were searching Mammana's suburban Philadelphia home for evidence of mail and wire fraud, authorities said.

Mammana, who owns a Pennsylvania egg farm, offered $250,000 last year in the disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

But he has his own lengthy rap sheet that includes aggravated assault, larceny and narcotics violations, felony convictions that make it illegal for him to have a gun. He was in federal custody pending a hearing scheduled for Friday.

You're right about one thing, sweety - THAT has nothing to do with Natalee. Don't they have a prison system in Indiana .... maybe even a death row? I would expect someone with your intelligence and sensitivity would just about wet her panties for the chance to meet a prominent serial killer, or, you know, someone important like THAT.
