1. This is weird b/c
my bank's computers went down this PM at about 3 PM...

Never happened before during the day - it occasionally happens at night during the reconciliations but I've never been turned away from making a deposit.

2. Someone think the Dow's going to fall?
Couldn't possibly be because Wall St. finally woke up to the fact that we're having our ass kicked out of the Middle East because of Dimson and his Merry NeoCon Elves.

Expect gas prices to go up and the Dollar to drop a lot. Soon.

18. I think your right.
Those Al Qaeda terrorists are going to start dumping US stocks.

Gee, you'd think if they had advanced warning, they'd also know how to prevent these attacks. Why is it we always seem to know about these planned attacks in advance, but never have enough information to, you know, stop them?

8. More aspirational threats brought to you by DHS
However, both the FBI and Homeland Security officials tell NBC News there is no threat information to support any action. Homeland Security is not issuing the usual intelligence bulletin, because there is no intelligence at this point.

This is just one posting on a Web site, not thought to be in any way imminent or actual — just a desire expressed.

Nonetheless, out of an abundance of caution, portions of the Web site were translated into English and passed along to banks.

Official concern about this is low, NBC's Wiliams reports.

11. So we'd better think twice before replying to the head of the bank of Al Queda
and his seemingly brilliant plan to help his jailed brother in government? If they take to mimic'ing the Nigerian scam, we're fuqqed.

16. Hmmmm
And tomorrow is the 1st--the day many people get paid. Most of it is direct deposit.
It is on a Friday.
Just think if they can fuck up and tie up all that money over the weekend how much interest it will generate.
What a load of crap.

20. I don't get paid but have some major bills due
Mortgage payment + Homeowner's insurance + Property tax = about $3,250, or about twice my normal paycheck.

:argh:

The good news is I can slide all of them until the 8th without penalty. That is a payday.

19. Stupid observance here:
The news says that they will launch "denial of service" attacks on financial sites, so then we all go check our bank's website, thus causing too much traffic. Done and done. Self-fulfilling threat.

(PS that's why I keep my loot buried in the yard)
