Citigroup Exec Turns His NY Penthouse Into a Meth Lab
The trailer-park drug known as "hillbilly crack" has been putting on the Ritz lately - as federal drug agents uncovered a crystal-meth lab inside the $6,000-a-month Manhattan penthouse of a bank executive, authorities said yesterday.

Michael Knibb, an information-technology vice president at Citigroup, ran the sophisticated drug operation from the living room of his luxury apartment overlooking the United Nations, said Drug Enforcement Administration officials.

The 37-year-old Knibb - who makes an estimated $250,000 a year - allegedly told authorities that he had decided to make his own methamphetamines because he could not find a reliable drug dealer after moving to New York from Seattle two years ago.

Knibb was one of 10 alleged do-it-yourself drug makers busted this week as part of a federal anti-meth sweep dubbed Operation Red Fusion.

11. Look up "Nazi speed"
It doesn't need all the ether and other volatile chemicals to make. you can cook it up on a stovetop without going boom. It's the way a lot of it is made in smaller quantities now. No smell , no explosions.

6. That's nutty..
Thing is, if he really was just making it for himself I'm not sure I have a problem with it. Anyone should be able to make or grow whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. I guess meth is a special case since it tends to explode.

12. could someone please explain to me what it is with the drugs???
I don't understand it now, and I never have...to let a chemical take over your mind...what is the thrill??? It would be nice to understand why it's so prevalent everywhere...is everyone's life THAT DAMNED INTOLERABLE??? Does anyone who does drugs, ever think about the possible result?...apparently it is not just a rich man's habit...as many people from all walks of life are taking part...strange...life is too precious to chance not waking up...is it possible they never realize that?

13. Depends on the drug
Some are better than others. Speed is NOT one of the better one, but don't lump them all together. If you have never altered your consciousness in any way ever, you have never even lived. It doesn't take drugs to give you a different outlook on things. In my time I've tried practically everything in the book and then some. Some were worth doing ONCE only to learn something from the experience, some I would do again in a heartbeat. I've seen people not wake up from doing nothing at all-"Every day is a good day to die"
