Bush is REALLY starting to resemble Gollum wrt Iraq
I keep expecting him to start growling out "my precious, my precious." His obsessive compulsion to stay the course at all costs makes no sense.

1. Its an incredibly sad reality in the conservative world
that one cannot admit they were wrong, take advice from those with differing view points or sit down and talk with one's alleged enemies. It is a sickness, because in bush's case people are dying by the thousands because of his conservative disease.

2. I'm not sure it's "obsessive". His one and only issue is power.
He cannot change, because that would admit the power of others over him requiring him to change.

There isn't any "thing" he thinks is so great and wonderful that it justifies his commitment to it. He is motivated only by his own power, everything else is in service to that in one way or another.

He is truly the kind of person my mother would say will "cut off his nose to spite your face" if it has anything to do with demonstrating his dominance.

3. And yet...

One wonders how he maintains that power. Someone else is pulling the strings, that seems certain.

6. The PNAC-ians and their ilk.
They are using this man, and others like him, who is/are comfortable with one and only one "rationale" for anything and everything that happens, "_________ because I/we say so."
