Damn you, Jim Baker. You and your Iraqnam Tsk(!) Force.
Damn you and your political wily ways.

You said today, that you DELIBERATELY DELAYED RELEASING YOUR REPORT until the election was over, purportedly because you wanted to not affect the elections.

not affect the elections? translated into common American-English, you did not want the disaster that is the growing quagmire in IraqNam to be described accurately, because it would damage your boss' sonny boy if the truth got out. You DELAYED releasing the bad news, so that the GOP could try to maintain control and power, and continue to control the dialogue. You DELAYED TELLING AMERICA that Bush has been lying through his teeth this entire year. As Rice, RUmmy and Cheney have been doing as well. YOU DELAYED a natural debate based one two simple questions: a) Why the hell are we there? and b) How the hell do we get out of here without losing more soldiers?

YOU DELAYED telling Americans the truth - simply to protect boy George.

Today, sir, TEN MORE AMERICAN SOLDIERS DIED IN IRAQ, while you bask in the glory of your tardy report. While you bask in congrats for calling a spade a spade, when we should have heard that 6-9 months ago. Today, sir, you bow and talk about bipartisan shit, and today, 10 TEN ! ! ! more families will mourn the loss of a loved one because you decided it was politically expedient to delay your report.

No sir, you did not avoid politics with this unforgivable delay - FOR YOU, POLITICS CAME FIRST - FAR AHEAD OF THE SAFETY OF OUR TROOPS.

SHAME ON YOU, Mr. Baker. Shame on you.

1. Ummm, like there is anything in that
report which will save a SINGLE US life.

It's main import will be to raise oil prices and make Baker even richer.

2. pardon me while I brood for a bit.
But, on reflection, why was I so naive as to expect that a bipartisan congressionally appointed commission would have cared more about the whole mess, not local politics. Then all we need to do is see the 9/11 whitewash commission - and it all becomes clear, depressing, etc.
