What I would like to say if I may. Here we have the potential
to be the beacon of whats right and good to the others who share our planet and we are squandering it, not anyone here personally but the Citizenry of this Country collectively and we must start making amends to that end. first recognize the problems of why we are at this place in history then work our asses off correcting that.
I will fight to my end to see a world where we all no matter who you might be have the same opportunities, domestic or foreign. Race be damned.

2. Walk in the shadows, move in the mists

"Walk in the shadows, hide in the waters, move in the mists, step behind the rainbow to save the treasure. Protect our ancestors. Hold the truth close and warm it with brave hearts, for pain will consume the land and the circle of our dreams will be broken. And it will seem lost beyond recall. Kia Koha! Be Strong! And the day will come when the treasure will be revealed once more. And we will walk tall with the knowledge in the woven basket and find joy in the colours of the rainbow. And the fires of truth will burn into the hearts of all the people of the land. And they will find the trail of gentleness and peace. Kahuri te Ao—the world turns. And the circle of our dream time takes a new shape for a new dawn. And the people of all colours join to bind what was broken and live in hope.”

3. I so agree... beginning with a humbling apology to the world-
and following that with actions, not simply tossing out words-

no more 'saber rattling' no fear based paranoid covert ops, but sincere effort to live the talk that I believe the founding fathers had in mind- And IMPROVING upon that-

for example-
not using/abusing others to 'get what we want'-
(what we did to the Native Americans, Mexicans, Spain etc. land-grabs)

not excluding equality to 'some'-
(civil rights for all- no-slavery, suffrage, ethnic, social and racial inequality)

not seeking to 'evangelize the world'-
(imperialistic actions have only brought us, and sown- misery)

not using fear- threats- and violence as a means of control
(the 'arms' race/star wars/nuclear arsenals that can destroy the earth many times over)

Seeking to live in peace- foster good relationships- use our great scientific and intellectual minds and technology towards the good of ALL the world- Encouraging others to make life as positive for all as possible-

When Gore points out on "an Inconvenient Truth" what Carl Sagan said about the little blue speck that is "Planet Earth"- it encourages in me, the remember that 'we' are all in this together- for better or for worse, and if we choose to be part of the 'for better' even if we lose- we won't have sold ourselves out in the end. That would make us the ultimate 'loser's. imo.

Thanks Madokie-
I appreciate your post, and your perspective-

peace,
blu
