A message for those who would imprison Cindy Sheehan for speaking out |
|
Words fail me at your cowardice and hubris that would drive you to lock her up for a year for her protest. So I'll have to let Brian MacNeill speak for me the same way Cindy does:
Come all of you who lie in the prisons of the mighty Who refuse to deny what you believe And know your greatest foe is the servant o' the night Who tries to sell the bargain of reprieve And when the captains o' the cruel come to whisper their lies Let their temptations fall by your side Listen tae the ocean and remember How the rock stands firm against the tide
And you who would be jailers, take this warning For every man you break upon your wheel There's another whose courage will pierce you like a thorn When you see you can never make him kneel And when the thorn digs deep into the canker of your heart And the prisoner sees the shame you cannot hide It's then you'll fear the sound of the ocean Where the rock stands firm against the tide
No matter the freedom, no matter the cause No matter the truth that lies beyond No evil can triumph though it cloak itself in law Against a man whose word is his bond No cage can hold the spirit of a true man's heart And injustice can never fetter pride No tyrant can ever chain the ocean While the rock stands firm against the tide
Sleep well, jailers, while you can. We stand with Cindy now and forever.

You really did take a wrong turn. I think you need to go back and turn right. It isn't the left that wants a New World Order, buddy!

6. Hey, I have my own questions about Cindy's actions... |
|
...and I've been called on the carpet for it tonight, believe me.
But this woman has done nothing to warrant such ridiculous treatment from the Capitol police.
bpilgrim is right on one important point - Cindy was only trying to remind people of the unspeakable injustice of our continued occupation of Iraq. I hope the only thing that silences her is the grave.

7. They came for the Jews and I didn't act. Same thing here. She is |
|
a woman made of steel, cloaked in the truth and justice of her cause. How many here would have the steely nerve to do what she does, standing all alone against the machine? I love her.

And I am heartsick trying to find out if she is going to be held and if not when she will be released.I got no answers from the sgt who arrested her. Hopefully she will only be held a couple of hours. As you can all see from her picture on here she was alone at the capital and was there legally. She had been escorted to her seat in the gallery and she had on a t-shirt that she had worn all day at the protest.Yes it said the number of our troops killed. She had even changed the number because 2 more were killed since she got the shirt. If this is a crime them say good bye to all our freedoms.Like bush said either you are for us or against us.Well, if we are against his murdering our troops and the innocent iraqi people then we are all criminals!!!!! This is no longer home of the free.

16. I doubt they'll imprison her |
|
That would look horrible on their part. A. It was just a damn t-shirt and B. She's a grieving mother.
If they do, a shit storm would surely ensue
