Poll question: Time for yet another unofficial DU '08 straw poll--vote early and often! |
|
Fifth in a series of quick snapshots of DU's current mood, '08 presidential-run-wise. The likely top ten prospective candidates are listed alphabetically, without comment. Don't worry--I won't argue with your choices or dispute your rationales--this isn't one of THOSE polls. If I've left out your favorite (Dean, Boxer, Sharpton, Pelosi?), be sure to let me know.

1. Get ready for the inevitable..."It's too early" and "We should be |
|
concentrating on other things"...It's funny how those people can take time off of all the concentrating on more weighty issues to provide their feedback.

3. Let's for once forget 'electability' |
|
Let's please forget 'electability' for once. Our victories in the Nov elections are not a result of finding 'electable' candidates, they were a result of espousing our principles!! VOTE KUCINICH

12. No, VOTE McGOVERN! He's still alive. Doesn't he deserve another chance? |
|
Yes, forget electability. McGovern had principles and still does. I cast my first vote for a presidential candidate for him. He deserves to lose in a landslide (again) as much as Kucinich. Welcome to Oz because we are not in Kansas anymore.

19. Nobody espouses my principles better than me. Should I vote for myself in 08? |

5. I've included Biden in past polls-- |
|
and he's never done better than 2 or 3 votes. Plus he's undeclared. Thought I'd give Bayh another shot, since I've excluded him the last couple of times. Biden will be back in future polls, most likely.

14. Though there are those of us (including me) who would love for Dean |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-12-06 09:58 PM by patrice
to run, he's definitely needed to manage the Democratic bench for 2008 and re-building the party has only just begun.
Kucinich is a candidate that you can be sure supports and will work for real Election Reform and real Campaign Finance Reform. This is a major reason I will support him.
