You could almost bet that the parents were sleeping off some
Edited on Tue Dec-12-06 09:17 PM by Texas Explorer
sort of intoxication while their child's foot was being knawed on by a pitbull. Can you imagine the baby screaming? They didn't hear the baby screaming? A pitbull? In a home with a baby? WTF?

Edit to add: Oops! I meant to post this as a response in another thread but I had a brain-fart and posted it to GD. Here's a link to the story: http://www.news24.com/News24/World/News/0,9294,2-10-1462_2043610,00.html

2. How about
ANY dog at home with a baby UNSUPERVISED?

All dogs should be supervised regardless of breed. These parents are grade A 100% stupid.

7. Agreed. But how many children are killed each year by Chihuahuas?
Edited on Tue Dec-12-06 10:58 PM by elocs
The breed does have a lot to do with how dangerous it may be and how quickly or easily it might kill or severely injure. Pit bulls have bad breeding, bad training, or no training. Their bite and its strength is far worse and more intense than that of other breeds. No young child should be left alone with a dog. A dog that has never bitten anybody may simply be a dog that has not bitten anybody, yet.

4. I agree.
Those parents need to be investigated, as I'm sure they will be. There's no way this happens with proper supervision. There are likely neglect issues. Very sad :(

5. That was probably a child who did a lot of crying, so they didn't notice
anything unusual.

"God"?

6. I have never had a pit bull
But this was a six week old puppy, and puppies chew. I know that from raising other breeds from puppyhood. This is the parent's fault.
