Am I wrong to be impatient with the neo cons?
Sometimes I get kinda screamy when discussing bush and his war on earth and his neo con pals who are making so much money right now from oil and blood. And sometimes I get scolded for being too impatient. When I say we should've stormed the white house yesterday, I get offered a chill pill, which I obviously need.

I realize fully that the process in D.C. is glacially swift, and that you time things with a calender, not a stop watch, but really now, America is going down the toilet and whatever needs to be done to stop the descent should've been done years ago. If we decided to start repairing the fuck ups right now, today, it would still take many years.

Am I wrong to suggest that we are in a severe crisis right now as a nation, and that swift, and bold decisions should be made before it's way too late?

Am I freaking out unnecessarily? Should I expect things to improve in a matter of weeks, months, years, or decades? Shall I learn to be more patient as a patriotic concerned citizen?

Am I indeed imagining a crisis where there is none? I have to ask, because sometimes I doubt my own sanity lately.

1. This nation IS IN A CRISIS and OUR CRISIS is affecting the entire world.
Freaking out will not change the course of the current administration, so why bother??? 'WE' all should be focusing on a repeat performance of the 2006 elections in 2008. 'WE' need to take away ALL branches of government from the neocons as THEY have proved that THEY can not be trusted with the future of 'OUR' nation. It is difficult to rationalize insane behavior, so quit trying before you drive yourself nuts. bushco is here for two more years and somehow 'WE' will all get through IT.

5. Seems like to me that our nation has been in a crisis
for decades!
At my age it has become impossible to muster up anything but a sort of impotent rage over the demise of civilization. Somehow we continue to lurch into the future guided by shadowy leaders in undisclosed locations who seem to have some private agenda in mind for the rest of the world that appears to be a nightmare for all the rest of us.

The 'Cons have certainly earned your disgust and outrage. While it is true that DC time scales are elongated, marked as they are by Congressional periods (2 year increments), we should not have to be patient to see intent to change.

Just as you put on your turn signal well before the intersection to warn other drivers, we have now signaled that the US will be changing direction in due time. The recent elections were just that, the public's turn signal that the country is changing course. We narrowly voted out the folks that have steered us on the wrong path and are warning the world that we are taking corrective actions. Unlike our cars, turning a nation takes time and won't be easy nor smooth.

Let's just hope that we don't end up like some of those old-timers on the freeway that have had their blinker on for the last 20 miles while driving 50 mph in the left lane.

Edit to add: Oh yeah, we must work even harder to elect Dems across the board in 2008 that are committed to serious repair of our failed country or the signal is only for a lane change.
