Stolen Baby Jesus Returned With Devil Horns
Edited on Thu Dec-14-06 07:33 PM by IanDB1
Stolen Baby Jesus Returned With Devil Horns

A baby Jesus that was stolen from a New Hampshire home was returned Wednesday with devil horns drawn on the statue's head.

The statue was stolen from a home in a front yard of Plaistow last week and replaced with a beer can.

The homeowner, Bob Chooljain, found the missing baby Jesus in a driveway.

Chooljain told a television station that he made the Nativity scene with his children several years ago.

He said the devil horns that were added to baby Jesus were removed, according to a Local 6 News report.

Jerks Steal Jesus From Nativity Scenes

December 14, 2006

Never mind the Grinch who stole Christmas.

The problem in Columbus is the jerks who steal Jesus out of front-yard nativity scenes. At least a dozen images of the Christ child have been ripped off.

“We’re after the baby Jesus thief,” said police officer Jodi Hefti. “I’ve never seen anything like it before. It’s all baby Jesus, nothing else.”

The season to be jolly? It’s the season to take precautions to keep outdoor decorations safe, Hefti told the Columbus Telegram.

4. "the season to take precautions to keep outdoor decorations safe"
Indeed it is! Officer Heifti could take the lead, heading up the Outdoor Decorations Defense bureau for the DHS -- I hope Mr. Bush doesn't let this patriot's obvious talents in these matters go unnoticed by the federal government.

10. I'm sorry, but going into anyone's yard and messing up things
isn't right. All of you here I believe were up in arms when that homeowner's association wanted to take down the peace wreath--and weren't a lot of you incensed when freepers came and desicrated an anti-war memorial a while back? To my mind, this is more of the same sort of thing. Ask yourself how you would feel if someone trespassed on your property and messed up something you made?

15. God damn right they are.
I am not religious at all, but this pisses me off. I find nothing amusing about drunken vandalism.

12. This is news why?
Petty vandalism happens every day. Did the owners honestly feel threatened by this? Perhaps they did, and my perspective is askew.

14. I think the point was
that they had made the statues themselves (that's my interpretation of what was said in the article, at least). The destruction/theft of someone's artistic creation makes for, at the very least, a human interest story.

16. OK, that makes sense.
I am just ready to lash out at any hint of "war on Christmas" nonsense. Last year, I couldn't even say the word "Christmas" because I was so irritated by it.

13. Who would do that? I can see a tiny trace of dark humor, but really...
as a proud Liberal, I find the alleged teachings of Jesus (whether he existed or not) very much in concert with my own principles. The fact that many self-identified 'christians' are operating in direct opposition to them doesn't negate the possibility that the folks who had their little icon stolen may well be, as we sometimes say "TRVE CHRISTIANS"

It was on private property, messing with it just ain't right.

17. Maybe they were pointing out that Jesus was a Jew...
and that they believe Jews have horns?

But for the most part, I think there are deeply Jungian motivations behind people who steal Jesuses (Jesi?)
