Something that even more proves the bigotry against Keith Ellison |
|
Through all the screams over his using the Koran for his swearing in, nothing was mentioned about Hank Johnson or Mazie Hirono and what they will or won't use for their swearing in. I haven't heard about Dennis Prager questioning them about what they are going to or not going to put their hand on in their ceremony. Now being a bigot against all non-Christians isn't any better than being anti-Muslim, but it is more consistent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hank_Johnsonhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazie_Hirono

1. Here is the real story. It is all horseshit! No books are used in taking the oath!!! |
|
They line up like recruits at the MEPS, raise their hand and take the oath en masse. There's no "books" involved whatsoever.
It has become custom, for some stupid reason, to take these vanity photos, after the fact, that feature a Pretzelduncial-style swearing in, with the spouse looking up like Nancy Reagan and some jazzy mentor administering a faux oath.
But that's just nonsense and gravy. It ain't REAL....like this whole fake "conservative balls in an uproar" issue isn't real!!! Funny how the right can only motivate their people with fear, outrage, anger, and the argument that they, fat, fortunate bastards that they are, are somehow under attack.
Pathetic, innit?

2. Dennis Prager Undermines American Civilization!!! |
|
Keith Ellison ,the first Muslim elected to serve in Congress, intends to undermine American civilization by carrying a Koran to his swearing-in ceremony. That's the Boneheaded view of Dennis Prager, who unfortunately is not alone in denouncing what he claims would be a sacreligious act by the Democrat from Minnesota. Nothing in the constitution requires public office holders to bring in any sacred book to their swearing-in. The Right-wing-nuts who insist that Christianity is the operative religion in public institution should revisit Article VI of the Constitution.
