Either he knows nothing about history or he's just lying. The CIA did indeed provoke the Soviets in Afghanistan.
I can't believe people can spew pure BS on TV like that and get away with it. Typical.

15. And Chris Matthews let him get away with it. |
|
Now all those college kids are going to come away thinking we had no responsibility to the destruction of a secular government in Afghanistan or cultivating a global network of fanatical terrorists, first to rid the Soviet Occupation that was provoked by us (just google Brezenski) in the first place.
Fucking media! :eyes:

I guess that makes sense since he's kind of mysterious guy, but I never really thought about it because I don't think I've ever seen him on a talk show.

That was great.
Then Chris asked him why historically, man has used torture. I don't fault Matt Damon for not knowing the answer but here's my take.
We all know that torture is impractical (as Matt Damon stated). However, people don't realize that torture, historically, is something that is used to control, it's components are sadism and ruthlessness. It has nothing to do with practicality. That's my take on it, at least.

26. You must have missed Good Will Hunting, then. |
|
"Affleck and Damon" wrote it, but the best parts of the movie seem to be all Damon (clearly the brains of the pair), particularly when he tells Robin Williams he has all the wrong books, and should have Zinn's People's History (Word.), and the long rant about why he doesn't want to number crunch for the NSA.

24. Why not....He should join in....who knows where it could all come out...Remember |
|
Reagan..."the actor." He was a two-termer. His memory lives...best thing since "sliced white bread."
Let everyone run...let it all be seen...Let the best Person Win...but given the "corruption" it will be "Let the best GOP'er Win." So we Dems can sit and wait for the "White Knight" once more to bail us out.
Maybe we are looking in the wrong places? Who knows...I sure the hell don't, anymore. :-(
