1. He just doesn't want too look rich
I remember all the crap I heard about Kerry being too rich etc.,
he wants to give the appearance of being a regular joe.

On a side note we need a good DU nickname for him.

The McCain Mansion in Phoenix has sold after more than a year on the market and for $1 million less than the original asking price.

U.S. Sen. John McCain, the Arizona Republican, and his wife, Cindy, are leaving the big place in north central Phoenix behind to move to a condo near 24th Street and Camelback Road. Cindy McCain owned the house through a trust. The sale closed Monday at $3.2 million, said Bobby Lieb, the Realty Executives agent who listed the property.

The house originally listed for $4.25 million. .....

2. If you drive about 4 miles NW, his pal Keating has a nice place.
And oddly, the huge magnificent Western Savings headquarters, a beautifull building finished just before the S&L crash is on 24th street.

Sold for a song by Resolution Trust. Biggest bargain in Phoenix.

3. McCain's partner, Kyl, has offices in that 'hood, too
It's not like they'd ever want to make themselves accessible to the rest of the folk in AZ. Guess they just represent Biltmore Estates.

(is there an emoticon for "gag"? if not, guess I'll just have to :puke:)

4. How could he lose 25% on his house, with our "great" economy?

5. Did he actually lose 25%
or did he just have to knock 25% off his original asking price?

6. Bush purposely never let public see the real Crawford ranch house mansion
This certainly is a political move for the sake of his image. Just like Bush not allowing any pictures of his home at the ranch.

Architectural Digest did a spread with McCain and wife in the past year or so but it only showed the interior of his home, showing patriotic military memorabilia and family pics to give public a favorable impression without portraying him as wealthy. In truth McCain left his first wife and kids to marry current wife whose family was wealthy and helped finance him in his political career.
