Why George and his clan have to go - urgent for the world...
I think that "political etiquette" - how Pelosi and Reid feel that they have to move forward - taking Impeachment off the table, agreeing with the "Surge" - has this all wrong. I think that Impeachment MUST be on the table - not just for George, but for Dick, Condi, and on and on down the line (and, no, I have no idea how that will happen, aside from wholesale revolt of our citizens). But - we are allowing an utter, complete, lifetime failure to determine extremely relevant future courses of so many things - Iraq, the Environment, etc...

If we separate out the two factors - of course we can't just walk away from Iraq, since it is the corruption, misjudgement, and errors of our current regime that put us there. But, thinking of two things - that the best indication of future performance is past performance (and a lifetime of failure will only bring more failure) - and that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results (which covers both what we are doing in Iraq, as well as my first point) - this just cannot go on. I think that we get so caught up in the detail - and have such short attention spans - that people are missing the big picture. And a horrific, ugly picture it is.

Has people's outrage now just atrophied into complete resignation? Boredom?

1. Part of the big picture
is that removing the President from power would be difficult at best and is likely impossible. It might be noble to try, but if it wouldn't succeed should we go ahead and try anyway?

2. Outrage is still ALIVE and WELL..........
But other than what 'WE' do everyday, I'm not sure 'WE' can do anything else, YET. Let's see what the Democratically controlled Congress does with investigations and subpoenas before 'WE' march on Washington to take back our country.

3. Congress must start doing its job. PERIOD.
Congress has been negligent in its duties over the past six years, and the new Congress must do what is required of it. That means overseeing the Executive Branch. Checks and balances must be put in place once again, and anything that looks out of the ordinary must be investigated and prosecuted if necessary.

Once Congress starts doing its job, the need for impeachment of Bush/Cheney/Rice, etc., will no doubt become very apparent. To ignore it, to give Bush a break, is not an option. Impeachment cannot be off the table because no one knows what will be uncovered in the future.

I think it will happen. Justice demands it, and the Constitution requires it. It's not an optional process. To ignore this duty is to be an accomplice to whatever crimes have been committed.
