Well, folks, I guess it's about that time. As much as I really hate to do it, I'm just getting too busy to spend much time at DU while I have so many other projects I need to do. I have only so much energy and find that I'm being spurred by some internal motivator to not only put more work into my novels, but to revisit the role-playing game system that spawned them in the first place. I'm also going to be working and doing home improvement projects around the house as well.
I'm starting to hit the point where I don't have anything new to offer in the way of political essays anyway. I'm afraid I'm going to start rehashing old points and there's really not much of a purpose to that. So maybe it's time I stepped back and put my mental energy into other things for a while, hopefully getting the chance to resume my postings here once I have revitalized my consciousness and will by reclaiming something I once loved and eventually burnt out on.
It's probably about time for me to take a break, all things considered. DU has gotten a little rough of late in many respects and, given that I have actually, for the first time, put another member on ignore, it may be time for me to distance myself from a source of aggravation I don't need.
I'll still be reading DU to keep up on what's going on, but I doubt I'll be doing a lot of posting, particularly of the original pieces for which I've become known. I'm shifting mental gears and it doesn't look like I'll be able to do everything I need to do, in terms of writing, without putting some things in perspective.
In my opinion some of my more recent pieces have fallen short of the excellence I've come to expect from myself anyway. So it's most likely best I expend that energy elsewhere to give myself some time to rejuvenate mentally.
I ask folks to keep this thread kicked for a while, and even recommend it if you see fit. I'll respond to things posted to this thread for at least the next few days just out of courtesy. And remember that if you ever want to contact me outside of DU, it's simply a matter of visiting my website and dropping me an email from the link provided there.
http://www.sajewilliams.comI'd consider it an honor to have members of my DU family drop by every so often and send me a hello.
In the meantime, I'd like to wish everyone a great holiday season and all the warm wishes and fond hopes I have to spare. May the new year bring you everything you can imagine you want and may the worst of what is to come be as fulfilling as the best of what has passed.
With love and respect,
Saje Williams
