No one in their right mind would support a troop increase at this point.

Just wait until the next Iraq job and job approval numbers are out.

Oh, and note to the Dems... Don't authorize the 100Mil.

1. At this point, whether or not we support Bush doesn't matter.
He doesn't care, and is determined to continue down the path of destruction. Our only hope is for Congress to tell him ENOUGH, and I'm not even sure he'll listen then.

2. He's got tunnel vision.

He wants to please Poppy and carry out his master plan of dominating the region. And you're right. The hell with what anyone else thinks.

3. Nah, he doesn't have any kind of vision
He just wants to feel like a big macho he man instead of the chickenshit mamma's boy wimp he really is. Actually, he's deranged.

13. Perhaps it can't be grown
but must be implanted through the will of the people.

17. Then Congress will honnestly be able to say that they are doing their job
...and further illustrate that the neo-con cabal has taken over our government & make voters wary of republicans in office even more than so than the last election.

4. agreed.....
do you happen to know if there is a consolidated action/petition/movement going on in order to reach the Dems... not to authorize the 100mil? I know to write on my own, but haven't a clue how to start such a commotion.. (which IMO, THIS is good reason).... This IraqInsanity has to stop.

6. It doesn't matter
the polls that is. Cheney and Co. are on auto pilot to keep the plan in motion and in fact barring some unforeseen action by the people of America I see them stepping it up in the region.

The $100 million war crime advancement bill will pass with only slightly greater tension than the others partly due to the fact that folks have not consistently and powerfully put it on the line and held their Reps feet to the fire with mass demos and actions. That's what it will take if we are serious about our future. A lot is at stake.

7. Smell the coffee, folks.
It doesn't matter one bit what the majority of the public thinks about anything. This pack of lunatics will do whatever they damn well please. Right now they want to send in and kill more troops. Do you see anyone who might be able to stop them?

9. I've read that Congress has to authorize more troops and more
money. Is that not so?

11. They've already said that they would do that
I don't think many of the leaders have the guts to get up & say, "not one penny more unless it's money for bring them home."

16. They've said they'd be happy to send the 'surge'? I know Reid
insinuated that Sunday but has since backed off. Who else is all for it?

19. Sorry, I had meant the troops already there
The White House was going to ask for over $100 billion for the upcoming year for Iraq & Afghanistan... and leading Dems had said they would support it.

15. you're right...doesn't matter what we "think" it MATTERS what we DO.
All the reps better have their feet held to the fire. And yes.. I see people who might be able to stop them... actually, people ARE the only ones who might be able to stop them, or at least make it matter.

I'm doing whatever I can do. I hope everyone does the same. I still believe that we have to use our voice, otherwise we are guaranteed Not to be heard.
