All You Need Is Love - Original Video Broadcast
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6005531631410809479&q=%22all+you+need+is+love%22

The original broadcast of this session was a big deal because it was the first time that a program was broadcast live via satellite, around the world.

Happy New Year, to all my friends at DU :toast:

1. My 11th birthday.
Not that my parents wanted to watch it or anything.

7. I was 13 when this was broadcast
and I was very lucky, my parents made sure I got to see it.

As a matter of fact, the first night the were on the Ed Sullivan Show my mother came running into my room and made me switch the TV channel because 'the Beatles were going to be on'.

My life went down hill from there, you know, sex, drugs, rock & roll... :sarcasm:

3. Thank you
Happy New Year to you too.

I had to watch that to check something out. I am reading a book by Geoff Emeric who was the engineer on that show and he says that Lennon flubbed two lines in the second verse on the original broadcast, so along with the drum roll in the beginning, they overdubbed those two lines.

It looks like the overdubs are in that version on You Tube.
