This time next month, impeachment may be a more serious topic? |
|
After Saddam Hussein is no longer alive. After many more Americans are dead. After a couple of the Iraqi "puppets" are violently eliminated. After civil war spreads like wildfire. After they appoint another Prime Minister to take Maliki's place. After our allies in the Arab world condemn our country. After it has been shown that Bush and Cheney cannot be left to their own devices. They must have oversight every second of every day. After this latest disaster takes form, will the Congress then see the need to impeach?

1. Well there's always wishing |
|
If DU had an impeachment wishing well, all the world's homeless could feed themselves on the pennies scattered there.

A wish, in my view, always comes true, a real sincere wish... as i do not believe that someone can make a really deep sincere wish with god unless they are really aligned with righteousness, in whatever langauge that is better interpreted, a wish comes true, there really is the lady luck, and god's fated umbrella.

2. Need? No. Opportunity? Maybe. |
|
Impeachment is a political, not legal, act. Congress must be convinced that impeachment is politically profitable. Which means, that not only Democrats but, some Republicans, must be swayed to believe that they will gain from removing, or forcing out of office through resignation, the frat-boy and his minions.
In the end, the citizenry will decide if Bush is impeached.

6. I agree. And, am surprising myself by doing so. |
|
I suspect that even many Republican congressmen are quietly hoping that some obvious reason that will inflame the public will allow them to rid themselves of what they now see as an anchor on their ambitions without appearing to be "traitors".

7. I think it's important |
|
to remove Cheney first (for Halliburton misdeed$ perhaps?) - and then boy king goes down. We need both of them to go if we are going to be able to begin the long road back.
