Charity Donation Drive Friday Update: HUGE OVERNIGHT INCREASE TO MORE THAN $20,000!

Wow!

Apparently a lot of DUers have been holding off on donating to our Year-End Charity Donation Drive. Since yesterday morning, DUers have donated **$6,000** to America's Second Harvest -- bringing our total for the donation drive to an amazing $20,103!

Since we reached our $15,000 challenge, America's Second Harvest will receive an additional $5,000 in financial and in-kind donations: $1,500 from Midlodemocrat, $500 from an anonymous DU member, and $3,000 worth of professional services from Redstone!

Their office is closed over the long holiday weekend, so nobody can email me the morning updates. The donation drive is still open until the end of the year, but we won't know the total raised until our contact person gets back into the office on January 2.

18. It's a holiday miracle

My faith, in DU, is restored. I have been pretty bummed out by the relatively slow start and lack of comments on these posts and have voiced my frustration, only to be knocked off my martyr pony by several members of DU who pointed out my Scrooge-like behavior.

Thanks DU for restoring the faith of a cynic and thanks for proving me wrong.

DU does good things and this is yet another example.

I'd rather give my money on a more personal basis. But, because it is DU, I decided to support it. You just can't get more trustworthy than DU, in my opinion.
