Can someone give me a brief summary of the process leading to Saddam's hanging?
It all seems very hasty and ill-concieved to me. It appears to me that due process was circumvented, but I don't really know all the details of the judicial process that took place. Can someone fill me in?

However, there is still something about it that just seems wrong to me.

5. Maybe it's the way the executioners were dressed/behaved?

8. "rush job" sums it up pretty well.
It looks more like a mob hit than an official state execution.

2. don't think there's an orderly process to much of anything over there...
In fact, it was stated by some that the current president of Iraq, Talabani, was supposed to sign an official document allowing the execution to take place. His response: I don't need to sign anything. Other than forming a noose with a rope and donning ski masks they don't know what they are doing. There is no real law.

4. I think you've summed it up, there seems to be an atomosphere
of lawlessness over there.
