Weirdest Erev-New-Year's-Eve I've ever spent...
An ex-President who held the key to two of the greatest mysteries of the 20th Century being flown and driven all over the place in a 747 and hearse, respectively; the funeral service of the Godfather of Soul with some of the most remarkable people in the United States on the same stage, including Michael Jackson, for God's sake; the apparent execution of a butcher - a brilliant sociopathic leader whose legendary genocidal actions are an appropriate coda for a century filled with the same. Seeing an indistinct corpse wrapped in a shroud described as 'proof of death' of Saddam was the Orwellian experience for the weekend. So far that is.

As an aside, the most entertaining moment was watching Larry King flip out because he was not going to be on the air when they announced the execution.

6. Nah, not too much more.
According to the Mayan calander, it all ends in 2012.
