A Hugh Difference Between Nixon and Bush |
|
Every criminal associated with the disgrace that was the Nixon Administration could have easily been contained in a typical County Jail lockup pod. With Bush its different. In the Bush Administration the depth of the corruption of our democracy is staggering. Its not just Bush and a handful of Advisers, as it was with Nixon and his ill-chosen band of very bad men. With Bush its every Cabinet Head, every Secretary of every Agency and every Deputy, and every Assistant to every Deputy, and right on down the line to the lowest levels of bureau-level regulation writers. When it comes time to start tossing people in jail from the Bush regime its going to take entire Federal Cell Blocks.

Unless there's an impeachment, we're screwn.

8. Yes, and the deliberate actions to... |
|
undermine our Democracy, including changes in policy, procedure, regulations and things that will last far beyond the current administration. Usurping all the checks and balances, setting insane, intolerable precedents and discarding/destroying time-honored precedents which affect what and how the Executive operates. All these efforts to create an almost dictatorial Presidency, answerable to no one...
Bush has soiled and corrupted far more than just the people (and that's not even considering the hundreds, perhaps thousands, of honest, and/or perhaps liberal/progressive minded federal employees in positions of some power within all government departments who have had their careers downgraded and/or destroyed (replaced by republi-conservo-neoconeheads) which is another long-lasting and profoundly important change.
Truly, the Bush boy-king was at the front of a ruinous, foul-wind that blew into Washington; from which it may never fully recover and, it goes without saying, we will never be able to make up for what has been done (much less be where we otherwise would have been).
