...as on FOX.....a look at FDR's 'infamy' speech is a worthwhile read.....Jesus, FOX no-minds, we were 'suddenly and deliberately attacked" and our interests around the world were in peril. NOBODY had to lie their ass off to get us into that war....
"Yesterday the Japanese Government also launched an attack against Malaya. Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong. Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam. Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands. Last night the Japanese attacked Wake Island. This morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island."
Franklin D. Roosevelt's Infamy Speech
December 8, 1941
Yesterday, December 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.
The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its Government and its Emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in Oahu, the Japanese Ambassador to the United States and his colleague delivered to the Secretary of State a formal reply to a recent American message. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or armed attack.
It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time the Japanese Government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.
The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. Very many American lives have been lost. In addition American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.
Yesterday the Japanese Government also launched an attack against Malaya. Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong. Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam. Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands. Last night the Japanese attacked Wake Island. This morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island.
Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation.
As Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense.
Always will we remember the character of the onslaught against us. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.
I believe I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make very certain that this form of treachery shall never endanger us again.
Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory and our interests are in grave danger.
With confidence in our armed forces - with the unbounded determination of our people - we will gain the inevitable triumph - so help us God.
I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December seventh, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire."

1. My response to pukes when they invoke FDR, or Lincoln, is. . . |
|
to castigate them mercilessly for having the nerve to compare Bush to FDR or Lincoln.

Pearly Harbor a false flag? I don't think you know the meaning of the term.

7. Perhaps, but I'm not the one who gave it that term... |

it's called that by others, and as you can see I had a ? at the end. Anyway, you didn't address the real point that was being made regardless of whether the correct term was used.
Is the "Surprise Attack" on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 – which resulted in a significant loss of Americans lives – relevant to understanding the events of September 11? According to American historian and Pulitzer prize winner, John Toland, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt had "prior knowledge" of the attack . . . and failed to act.
"A massive cover-up followed Pearl Harbor a few days later ... when the Chief of Staff ordered a lid put on the affair. ‘Gentlemen,' he told half a dozen officers, ‘this goes to the grave with us.'"

10. I get your point. But 'False Flag' is a wrong term to use for it |
|
And anyways, I don't believe that Pearl Harbor was foreseen in any way.
It took a heroic, almost miraculous effort by Japan to carry out that attack. And they caught a peacetime naval base completely off-guard.
Doesn't seem too complicated to me.

11. I don't know that I believe it either, but I haven't researched it fully... |
|
but I wouldn't automatically discount it either. Nor disbelieve the possiblity of it having happened.

3. And don't forget, we only declared war on Japan at first |
|
We did not declare war against Germany until after Germany had declared war on the USA. So even after a sudden, deliberate attack, our initial response was proportional and directed at the proper target.

6. Where are the radical muslim armies? |
|
And where are their navies and airforces? Their tanks and helicopters?
How many ground-ready troops do radical muslims have ready to deploy to any location in the world?
Do they have treaty alliances with other countries? Do they have an active intelligence service?
How about food and raw material sources? Labor resources? Transportation services? Medical services?
Hitler and the Japanese had ALL of these BEFORE the war.
THAT'S why nobody needed to be convinced that war was inevitable.

8. Iraq is a war of CHOICE. Remember the Bush' Doctrine...pre-emptive war. |
|
The 'standard' for this kind of war must be undisputable. Otherwise, we end up with Iraq.
It would have been the same if we had arrived in Germany and the entire Holocaust had been faked. Americans would have been pissed.

against nation-states. We're not so hot at getting in the middle of civil wars.
