Chimpy is not talking about a "surge" |
|
he is talking about escalation. Why do we keep enabling his peculiar and misleading Chimp-speak by repeating it? Doesn't anyone have the courage to call it what it is?
When our new Congress is sworn in, will they also continue to pander to this delusional bastard by referring to his insane plan to escalate the war as a "surge'? I do not understand why anyone would still aid and abet this psycho in his intentions to mislead us by echoing his 'buzz words".
He is talking ESCALATION. Dressing it up in drawing room niceties doesn't change anything.

1. I thought it would be that and permanent |
|
I figured that from the start. There is no end and there is no pull out. As long as Bush gets his way. I just hope that the dems hold to thier promise to fight him hard.

2. The latest that I heard, was 10,000 to 20,000. This is low for those |
|
who think that possibly 40,000 would make the difference. I personally don't want more going, I want them to come home.
I find it interesting (not that I diminish one death of our troops), that the media were saying last month that Mc Cain was favoring a larger amount or bring them home.
The debate then said that if we send more troops, but not enough, McCain could say that we didn't follow his policy, so it would be a win-win for him. I hate to say it, but if Bush is playing that game, Hell, is not punishment enough for him.

6. It would take full US mobilization to restore order in Iraq |
|
Then there would be generations of occupation to maintain it. We can't even start to afford it. I want my soldiers out of there: today!

We're just lucky Rumsfeld shrank the military as much as he did back when. If they had more troops, they'd have sent them already. Even this surge is limited only by practicalities...
Of course, a surge would work (albeit temporarily), if we could send about 27 million troops (somewhere in the range of 1+ soldiers for every man, woman and child in IRAQ)(hopefully they won't think of this or won't be able to institute such an incredible draft).
So long as the M$M is controlled by wealthy interests; and so long as those interests support the Bush Administration and Oil Imperialism, we'll continue to see them repeating the Bush/Repub manipulative language. This underlines a problem that may be as large (or larger) a threat to our Democracy as the war itself--and that is the corrupt manipulation of our public information networks. Such a thing is the greatest threat to our chances for educating the populace and winning elections (so, if we really want to influence the war and foreign policy as well as the economy and future of the nation, we have to focus on leveling the playing field, ensuring public oversight, education and awareness--a free and independent media is absolutely necessary to a functioning Democracy).

10. surge = escalation and escalation is the right word just like INVASION not war ... |
|
INVASION is the right word ... this is one of the ways in which they lie, lie. lie.
they twist words around, give them completely new meanings. not only do they mispronounce words, they misrepresent words.

11. 20,000 troops is a pretty piss poor escalation |
|
"Surge and accelerate" is "Stay the course" only just a little bit faster.
