Google News offers 'fond farewell' to … President Bush? |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-03-07 12:00 PM by swag
http://www.networkworld.com/community/?q=node/10182&netht=010307netflash&company=CA%20XOSoftA farewell would be wonderful, though it would hardly be a fond one. On edit: clarification - I don't want him to die, I just want him to leave office. Anyway, that was Google News talkin', not me.

some friends and I, after viewing the Ford funeral and the SH execution and burial, were postulating what will happen at Bush's funeral. I figured he will want a grand state funeral in keeping with his Imperial self image. Only problem is you can count on one hand the number of folks that show up (excluding the Bush clan). I am invisioning a Nixonish funeral. Hell, I vote for a New Orleans jazz funeral replete with street dancing. Some how, that is satisfying on so many levels........:spray:

8. Nonsense. There will be throngs of people at GWB's funeral. |

It's like CB DeMille said--"Give the people what they want, and they will come."

9. The problem with a Jazz funeral |
|
They are fully centered on respect for the deceased and are a celebration of his life and legacy. I won't be paying any respect to the deceased in this case, but I probably will have one hell of a party.

they are called wakes, and full of respect (although with a bit too much alcohol). Guess we'll have to come up with a new catagory. Just the thought of sending him out the NO way with singing and dancing has a historic appeal to me.

11. My ol pappy used to explain that a wake was just the party that evolved |
|
to prevent the guy watching to see the cat didn't bite off hunks of the deceased from falling asleep on the job.

love your pappy's explaination. And if I know human nature-it's probably closer to the truth. Great story.
