1. Apparently the pollsters, along with the rest of us ...
... are still in a comatose state induced by complete boredom after listening to the usual swill.

As soon as they wake up out of their stupor, they'll start putting the numbers together ...

2. Heard they were down .5%. GOP upset about no bounce.
Saw that somewhere. Will try to refind it.

3. It takes three days to fully conduct a poll properly.

Rasmussen releases polling results every day.

You can see his rolling average here:

5. Not so reliable, in my opinion
As far as I can see, Rasmussen's numbers are a) biased toward * and b) wander several points, seemingly randomly, around their basic pro-* bias.

Just my opinion, though

6. They did wonderful in 2004
They went 24/24 in their state polls, and came within a half of percentage point in the national total.

4. And just imagine how disappointed the anti-steroid crowd must be!
Seriously, a speechwriter or two put some rhetorically polished diction in the president's mouth and he blustered his way through the speech.

The smirking alone ought to have appalled 3/4s of the country.

I'm curious to see the numbers, too. Maybe fair to middlin' in the swing states but I bet he didn't fool anybody in Vermont or Oregon.

God this presidency sucks.

7. The only poll I've seen was the Gallup Poll right after the debate
It was on CNN Asia. They said 48% of the viewers gave him good or excellent marks. 47% gave him fair or poor and 5% were undecided. But...at least they had the decency to point out that more Republicans than Democrats watched the SOTU so the numbers were skewed higher in the positive range.
