That's a common argument used by the enthusiastic supporters of involvement in the Iraqi Civil War when discussing the loss of US military personnel.

I wonder why they don't use that same logic regarding the loss of 3,000 people on 9/11.

Ask them.

Also, I think it would be a good idea to start referring to the war in Iraq as "The Iraqi Civil War." Use it. Repeat it. Drum it into the consciousness of the American people.

4. The difference is that we don't deliberately try to run over people.
If that stupid analogy were offered by a democrat, they'd be laughed out of the room.

7. Those 3,000 are like drunk drivers who are responsible for the other 600,000.
Their 'boss' told them that it was ok to drink and drive and maybe they are just following orders.

9. I have heard that argument used, too, but last week I heard another one.
A repuke neighbor actually said that many of those who were killed in the war would have probably ended up in jail anyway. My answer to this idiot was: "And just how do you know that one of these soldiers/Marines wouldn't have one day have found the cure for cancer had they lived?"

12. That 3000 does not account for all the injured
Many of whom are more likely to survive with today's medicine that they would have in years past. With their lives altered forever (and not in a good way). Add to that the number with PTSD (which is not counted either) and you're probably looking at tens of thousands, conservatively. Not to mention the civilians killed due to our illegal actions (100K, 600K who know?)

3000 "people" not many? 655,000 Iraqi (non-people) too few?

20. Iraq Deaths
In addition to the 3,000 American dead and 25,000 American injured (injured=loss of sight, loss of limbs paraplegics, etc.) there's also the estimated 600,000 Iraqi "collateral damage". That's about 12 years worth of American traffic deaths, and is a pretty substantial number.

Take 600,000 lives out of any state in the USA, and most everybody would notice.

23. You're fighting a tough battle.
Humans are unfortunately sloppy with logic and statistics (Thanks God for the crappy mathematical designed brain!) and it's all about the Propaganda. This works in the favor of the Vampires who love glorious, glorious War. One ends up arguing about numbers instead of actually thinking of the number 3000 as 3000 humans.

Not to mention the 655000 Iraqis and 11000 seriously injured troops.

24. Disgusting. Just disgusting.
I have heard this also at my work and had to restrain myself. Just disgusting.

If I hear it again (and trust me, I probably won't) I will use the 9/11 argument. I'm sure I would hear a lot of stammering on that one.
