"Failure in Iraq means disaster for America" |
|
Right, Herr chimperor. That's what we've been saying. And we have a failure on our hands.

1. Get a clue, George. We've already failed in Iraq, |
|
and it's already a disaster.

2. He still hasn't defined success or failure. |

Failure would embolden Iran to get nuclear weapons? Didn't we embolden Iran by invading Iraq, forcing the Sunnis out of power and putting pro-Iranian Shiites in charge? Wasn't the election of the extremist Shiites the biggest failure we could eve have had in Iraq? Bush is once again talking nonsense.

5. I have to agree with him on this one |

Failing to make Iraq "work," in terms of the people who live there not being thoroughly pissed at us, will be really bad. Sentiment in the region toward America could get a lot worse. More terrorists, possibly even ME governments cutting off our supply of oil (and keeping Halliburton from making money).
So I have a hard time believing he gives a shit. If he did, he would propose doing something different, something that may possibly have some sort of a chance at helping the situation. He didn't. No political solution, no reasoning with the Iraqis, just more soldiers to die. He says the mistakes are his responsibility, not that he made mistakes, and it doesn't translate into any sort of action.
