I have been flicking around cable-ville and the general consensus is just miserable for the mofo.
Goodness, I cannot even imagine how they are going to circle the wagons around this disaster.
He was a fu*&ing joke on camera.
Is that the best they could do?

Lt. Gen Bernard Trainer (Marines, Ret.) had been very supportive in anticipation of Bush's speech tonight. Last night he waxed philosophical about how Bush had the right idea and how he totally supported Bush's "surge" and etc etc ad nauseum.
Tonight, however, after the actual speech he stated that he was "profoundly disappointed" and that there "was no specific mission outlined" He said it was "more of the same.. a lot of rhetoric and no strategy"
I would say that this reaction was not what Junior might have expected from one of his "supporting Generals".

I'm afraid that they had to take hours teaching him how to read words like 'subversives'. You could just see him sounding out the big words.

13. No time like NOW to start pushing for IMPEACHMENT - with everything |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-10-07 11:55 PM by calimary
we've got!!! My God but the momentum is SO incredibly with us now. Seize the time, guys!!!
WHEN you call your reps (WHEN, NOT "if") PLEASE, if you can, add in a strenuously strong demand for IMPEACHMENT!!! If WE ALL want out, and the only thing keeping us stuck is one very large impediment at the top, is it not fitting and proper, indeed - absolutely IMPERATIVE and VITAL - for us to REMOVE that impediment? If he stays put, he'll keep all the rest of us stuck, too. Besides, he's been wrong ACROSS THE BOARD with everything he pushed, demanded, and pulled behind our backs. Are we REALLY gonna get suckered in, AGAIN? You REALLY wanna keep trusting this guy, and giving him the benefit of the doubt????? If you were running a business and you had a continued fuck-up whose advice was consistently wrong, who blew the company budget, let orangutans on speed run wild through the office, ran your whole ship aground, WOULD YOU KEEP HIM ON????

37. Red Tail Ale is available a couple of hours north of you.... |
|
http://www.mendobrew.com/brews/red_tail.html. I used to love visiting the brewery in Hopland. Summit is here in St. Paul and they make very tasty brews. http://www.summitbrewing.com/home.phpI'm sure Leinenkugel's beers are available in Rhinelander. It's a popular and well-distributed regional brand. Not quite as "boutique-y" as the others. http://www.leinie.com/home.htmMr. Z. is in the wine business, but I still appreciate a hearty beer. :toast:

and about 90 miles east of the Twin Cities. Come here, tour the brewery, try all their specialty beers at Leinie Lodge.

33. That's what struck me too...... |
|
I watched the speech and then some of the commentary on PBS. To a person, pessimism reigns supreme. Jim Webb and some repug named Thune gave the political take.
Webb is an excellent spokesman and stressed that this speech was about a tactical maneuver rather than a new strategic course. He stressed that this is a regional problem now and the chimp is focused too narrowly on his own ideological definitions. Thune equivocated that he needs to see how this plan will work, to give it time. That comment is from a chimp supporter!! LOL
They also had two old military guys I've seen around named Trainor and Odom. Man, they flat out said this plan won't work because it doesn't address the complexities of the warring forces. Odom said the chimp speaks about the "enemy" as if it were some cohesive and identifiable entity. It is not!
All in all the chimp just jumped the shark tonight. Unfortunately, our soldiers will pay the price.
