Did Bush mention God tonight?
I just heard the end and he didn't end it with his usual "God Bless America".

I thought that odd.

He was so totally out of it...and didn't smirk once. He looked scared to death so why no mention of God?

he went and had a personal meeting with God. And afterwards God could send him on his way for an eternal chat with Hitler.

4. No, but he did manage to mention "September 11"
:eyes:

I don't think it was even 5 minutes into his speech.

6. Yes, at the end...
'We go forward with trust that the Author of Liberty will guide us through these trying hours' (pretty obviously a god reference).

9. Sure he did, "Author of Liberty"...
Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 02:31 AM by neoblues
He closed by saying: "We go forward with trust that the Author of Liberty will guide us through these trying hours. Thank you and good night."

He's used the same one before too... reference to God

It's probably from the old hymn "America": "My Country, 'Tis of Thee... ...Our fathers' God, to thee, author of liberty, to thee we sing"

Author of Liberty = God.
